Hivportalen is an information centre on the Internet for those who work on HIV prevention and other sexually transmitted infections, STI, in Sweden.

About Hivportalen

Hivportalen provides facts on knowledge development and practical work concerning information about Hiv, STI and sexual health. The portal contains links to state authorities, municipalities, county councils and county administrative boards, as well as voluntary organisations and universities. They are all responsible for their own information. This means that the portal does not include activities or subjects about which there is no information available on the Internet.

The National Council for Coordination of HIV Prevention (Nationella Hivrådet)

As a part of prevention against HIV and sexually transmitted infections, the swedish government established a national council for the coordination of work in the country, the National Council for Coordination of HIV Prevention (Nationella Hivrådet). The information centre on Internet is a result of that. Hivportalen is operated by the National Council for Coordination of HIV Prevention (Nationella Hivrådet) in collaboration with the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen). The Council is an advisory body to the National Board of Health and Welfare and consists of twelve major players in the prevention field in Sweden:
